Knightsbay Dog Training is passionate about working and training gundogs, such as retrievers and spaniels, for what they were bred for. We take great pleasure in seeing their natural ability on the working field.
Russell has years of experience of owning, training and working his own dogs. This gives him invaluable insight into the many training methods and offers him the chance to perfect his techniques. Russell always use positive reinforcement to achieve our course goals.

His aim is to give handlers more understanding on how to get the best from their gundogs in a supportive environment. Gundog training is offered on an initial assessment basis which is then followed up with a schedule of training sessions to suit you and your dog.

Here is Findlay, a Sussex Spaniel, on his first gundog training session. He even managed to do his first retrieve too.
Here is Hugo, a Hungarian Vizsla who won Best in Breed at Cruft 2016, on one of his usual gundog training sessions. Watch how he is following the scent on the breeze.
Here is Hugo again doing a ‘blind retrieve’ where the gundog has to find the retrieve using scent alone.
Here is Daffodil, a black Labrador, doing a ‘blind retrieve’ over land and water. Look at her go!
